We are developing support for persons with I/DD and ASD to enter into meaningful, sustainable SIE (Supported Integrated Employment) through the Federal set-aside work program known as Ability One. This program is not known outside a limited circle of highly compensated executives and represents access to a pool of Federal procurement contracts worth 4 billion dollars per year today which employs nearly 60,000 individuals (full and part-time) and is slated to increase to 8 billion dollars over the next 4 years. The program is in existence for more than 70 years (first named the (Jacobs Wagner O'Dey Act) and represents not only new funding for 501c3 organizations but a meaningful path for transition from education to employment for both providers and parents to consider as their students leave the education arena of life.
